Coleman had me ship it to them at my expense and sent me a new one. We ended up buying something else in the meantime and are saving the new Coleman one for yard sale time.

Our Coleman Roadtrip Grill had the same problem this last weekend. I was cooking chicken with the skin on it and I guess it started a grease fire which melted the grills and the handle. What was Coleman's response when you contacted them? Have you looked into any other competitors products?

I was researching the internet tonight after the same thing happened to our grill. My friend grabbed the handle to open the lid to start grilling & it came off in his hand because the plastic around the screws had melted. The entire surface of the flat grill had flaked up and the slotted side had collapsed down and melted in the center. What did Coleman say?

Holy Mother of GOD!! I am so very glad it wasn't worse then it was and that no one and nothing else was hurt or damaged. I just imagine how it could have played out, though...
